The Bearded Pig Jax Beach

Came here after seeing they had gf chicken nuggets on their menu online, was not disappointed in the slightest. Our bartender/waitress (Kate? Katelyn? So sorry it’s been a few weeks) was a fellow gf girl and she was the best!! She told me all of her favorite things and assured me it was safe, and told me they have a dedicated gf fryer. I had the nuggets, an order of their smoked turkey, and sweet potato fries. Everything was incredible. Fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned well, and so was the breading on the chicken. Whole white meat chunks, no weird pieces. Turkey was very flavorful and moist. Lots of good sauces too, although there was one that was made with a malted vinegar, so stay away from that one. They have great happy hour drinks and prices too. 10/10 all around. Even got an order to go to take home for later. (Note: they have an A-1 ranch that they make in house. I tried it since she recommended it but after the first (delicious) bite I googled A-1 because I thought I remembered it not being gf. It contains a caramel color that I personally stay away from, but doesn’t contain gluten or wheat. So just a warning on that to anyone extra sensitive like me.)

Mediocre experience at best. One step above take out, Basic BBQ, okay for GF. No service, bar atmosphere. I'd eaten at the King St location some years ago, had a great meal. Not this time.

The Bearded Pig BBQ is an amazing GF stop in Jacksonville.

They do have some gluten containing items, (rolls, desserts and one of their sauces) but their meats and most of their sides are GF. They have AMAZING GF chicken nuggets, not pictured. Their fryer is completely GF and their fries were amazing. Staff was super knowledgeable and they have a very clear/simple allergy menu at the counter.

If you're in Jacksonville, FL, you've got to stop here.

I'm sorry the food is half eaten, I took the picture as quick as I could but my husband was faster! 🤣🤣🤣 (He's also GF due to a wheat allergy.)
