Would rate it zero stars if I could. Came here with my son after reading other good reviews; they wouldn’t serve me because I’m celiac and said they can’t take the risk. I’ve never had an establishment not even leave the choice up to me, and they made no attempt to figure out a single thing I could have. Didn’t even offer me water. I sat here holding back tears while my son ate pancakes.

I ordered the banana oat pancakes and they were incredible! They are very hearty and taste like banana nut bread. I love that there was fresh fruit with it (blueberries, sliced strawberries and banana). I was so excited to find a place on Oahu that offered so many gluten free options.

Good food. Lots of gf options… but lots of cross contact. I get sick nearly every time thus having this veggie restaurant with lots of gf options isn’t really helpful for those needing gf (celiac vs preference). Was super excited initially but have since found I’m pretty limited on what I can get.
Examples: have gf bread but use same toaster. Use same knife/butter/aoli
They have a sign that says not safe for celiac which is nice but they could take a few extra steps
To make it safer.
(Another reviewer said gf granola, but when I asked they didn’t know if the oats were certified.)

Very honest about not being able to ensure gf meal/prevent cross-contamination with sandwich or grill options. I appreciated their honesty. They did recommended the acai bowl and said it would be a safe choice (gf granola). I loved the Rio bowl so much that I came back again two days later for another! I'm very sensitive to gluten dairy and had no reactions either time. If you love acai or pitaya bowls, I highly recommend! I would give it 5 stars for everything based on the bowls, but there really aren't other options for Celiac. (On one visit, they had a few gf vegan donuts that were awesome. I think that's just hit or miss, though, and I had just gotten lucky. Very lucky!)

Had a great experience. Ordered the daily frittata special. The person I ordered from double checked the recipe for the day was gf. I got a side salad with the balsamic vinaigrette and a ginger lemonade. I had no reaction.

I never comment my experience but after reading the bad reviews, I wanted to say my experience. I’m not sure why the other reviews say they don’t care about celiacs. I went there and they were so nice and friendly. They even went back to the kitchen to confirm with the cook. I got the beach babe burrito-GF burrito and the aloha drink and it was AMAZING. If I could, I would go everyday.

Discriminates against those with Celiac. Avoid this place at all costs.

Delicious! Service was quick with many different GF options! I had the avocado toast with an egg and it was amazing! No cross contamination issues.

Lots of things they say they can make gluten free, but make sure to clarify about cooking methods to avoid cross contamination! they toast the bread in the same toaster so it would come into contact with glutenous crumbs. Food was good!

I LOVE beet box cafe! It was one of the first places I ever found on island with so many gluten free options, and also vegan. They have always been very kind and hyper aware of my allergy. definitely recommend

Offers gluten free options on the menu but does not take any steps to avoid cross contamination. Staff seemed irritated at the request to avoid cross contamination and told us that they could not make any accommodations for us.

Advertises most of menu to be gluten free/able to be made gluten free, but told me that there were no options for me as a Celiac which would avoid cross contamination. Even advised me to not eat their granola as it was cross contaminated. If you’re going to bother with the gluten free advertising and menu products, might want to make it either clear that it’s unsafe or do a better job attempting to accommodate. Waste of my time.

Advertise all foods as gluten free but they cook everything in same stove top and baking equipment without cleaning. I had an açaí bowl as it was the only safe item.

I ordered the veggie burger. The woman taking my order informed me they couldn’t be sure my food was 100% GF but they would take precautions and not use the same toaster for my bun. I did not get sick.
Yes
Really delicious gluten free and vegan options! I had the banana oat pancakes and grabbed a GF donut. So yum!

Beware that this is a vegetarian restaurant first and gluten free second. I didn’t pick up on that and I am a meat eater — so was hoping for a gluten free Kailua pork sandwich or platter.
But with that out of the way, there is plenty of selection although everything has an Indian flavor to it — even the frittata and the tortilla soup. They have GF donuts though all are glazed with different flavors and sprinkles.
All in all, not a bad place to spend your lunch before or after chocolate tasting.

DELICIOUS!! Must eat here. The breakfast sandwich was amazing as were the banana oat pancakes

Yummy! I've had the frittata and the oat pancakes. Both delish. Salads look amazing. GF desserts yummy too.
They don't have ketchup.
GF banana oat pancakes were to die for!!
Had an açaí bowl, couldn’t eat the granola bc of a nut allergy (granola contains almonds) but I ate and had no reaction, to nuts or celiac. They also seemed really nice and patient when explaining things to me & didn’t get annoyed at my questions.
Yes
Amazing good and an amazing selection. We had the GF donuts and acai bowl. Great fresh produce and a very down to earth feel.

Their gluten free donuts get me EVERY time!!! So nice to have such a fresh baked good. I’ve been many times and haven’t reacted at all
Woman at the counter didn’t know was Celiac was, but she said they are very good with allergies of any sort. I ordered a meal requesting the nuts (CC risk) be removed for safety measure, and asked for special care and handling with my meal. The meal came out exactly as I ordered and the staff member assured it was carefully handled. Tasted great and I didn’t get sick! I would definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite places to eat on the windward side or north shore. Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free or vegan and the staff is very knowledgable. Everything is clearly marked and the food is incredible.
Excellent all around, breakfast served all day. I had the banana pancakes and they were amazing. GF and Vegan marked on the menu. I recommend a visit
