The Big Texan Steak Ranch & Brewery

We went for lunch. When I walked in I asked for the Gluten Friendly Menu and they have one, as well as an allergen menu. Not a lot on there, but I had the filet, baked potato and coleslaw. The menu said the steak seasonings were gf. It was a great steak and I would not hesitate to go again.

I called to find out if they were knowledgeable about gluten free procedures and the man, in an annoyed tone, told me you just need to go somewhere else, bc they cannot clean the grill or change gloves for me. So we are stopping at Tyler's BBQ where they will pull out a clean cutting board, change gloves and get fresh meat for their celiac customers AND not be irritated about it.

Service was good, but it seems most of their stuff has gluten in it, like steak seasoning & only option for salad dressing is Italian.

I came here knowing they had a gluten free menu. This place did not disappoint! The steak was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. I had a side of coleslaw and a baked potato. Yum! Would come again if we come back through Texas.

This is my second trip to Big Texan. The servers are very nice and knowledgeable. Newer staff will check to make sure GF if necessary (if they're unsure). All seasoning for steaks are GF as well as some sides (I highly recommend the green chili corn).

The server brought me a separate GF menu. All the steaks and seasoning are GF- a few sides as well. I had a steak,salad, & baked potato. All tasted great! If you are looking for steak- this is a great place to eat!0

Called ahead to be sure gf was an option. Was informed no menu but the basics were available. When we were seated waitress “didn’t really know gluten free, and didn’t think anyone else would either. Sorry”. Didn’t care to ask. Had to just leave. Negative stars

It’s a tourist stop that we were told we had to try. The steaks are SO GOOD! Steak and baked potato was gluten free, no one got sick at all. Not sure how well they do gf with anything else, but the steak is worth a stop!

It was very busy when we went during Saturday lunch, but the food was excellent and safely prepared for my family. Highly recommend the chili! The atmosphere cannot be beat. My daughter had the rib & smoked beef lunch while my husband and I had the 9oz ribeye. No complaints with the steak or the baked potatoes on the side!

The staff was very knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and was very diligent that I was okay. Steak was wonderful.

They do have a GF menu, but their staff isn't well trained. The meats are all GF and are cooked on tin foil to avoid cross contamination. They even have a separate place for servers to put in GF orders to keep them safe, but our server didn't know how to correctly use the system and kept delivering mistakes. My celiac son's wings came out with pieces of toasted bread on them, and we told the guy he couldn't have that. He pulled the bread off and said, "Here ya go.". We had to explain that appetizer was now contaminated, he seemed confused, and finally was straightened out by kitchen on how to properly place GF orders.

All their steak and seasonings are gluten-free. Their CHILI is so delicious and gluten-free. Friendly staff that is very helpful.
