The Boatyard Waterfront Bar and Grill

We stopped here for lunch and were pleased to see gluten free items marked on the menu as my husband has celiac disease. He ordered jambalaya after verifying with the waitress that it was indeed gluten-free. When it arrived, it had two slices of bread on top of it which were not gluten-free per the confused waitress. I would be very cautious ordering at this restaurant.

We had the GF wings with Kentucky bourbon sauce. They were ok, super messy. I Ordered grilled fish barramundi special and steamed broccoli without garlic due to an allergy. The fish was ok and broccoli arrived covered with garlic. Our server was very apologetic and brought out plain broccoli but it took 10minutes. My husband had jambalaya which was Alonso ok but too bright. The place overall is pretty dirty and food was meh.

I got the chicken corn tacos- which I was verbally assured was gluten free- and woke up the next morning contaminated. I understand that the item I ordered was not one of the ones specifically labelled as gluten free, but when you're assured that it is (especially since most corn tacos are), it's hard to know. The food was nice, and the servers friendly, but proceed at your own risk

I had a lovely dinner of pan seared grouper with mango salsa, a side of broccoli, and rice. It was excellent! We sat on the back patio and really enjoyed dinner here! The waitress recommended the pan seared grouper just to be sure so seemed knowledgeable about celiac.

Excellent find! GF selections noted on the menu and were very informative with safe foods (also DF and EF here) - blackened grouper was great and GF side selections available too! No separate fryer but lots of options without fried food!

The gluten free menu items are clear. I was very impressed with the service. The waiter was very understanding with my concerns. I wish they had the gluten free items listed online.
