I got the jerk chicken over rice (marked GF on menu) and it was really good. They were unfortunately out of the peanut butter pie that everyone hyped up so I guess I’ll just have to come back next time I visit! My grandmother had the gumbo (not gf) and wasn’t impressed but I did like my food even though it was a little on the pricier side. Staff was friendly.

The peanut butter pie is PHENOMENAL!! My non-gf family enjoyed it as well. The slices are very large! I asked about gluten free food items and unfortunately, the staff informed me that only the pie is gluten free.

Second time coming here for the pie!
The peanut butter pie is absolutely delicious. Have been twice and no reaction. The slice is huge and takes 2 people or 2 sessions. Definitely a rich dessert but not too much, a great balance of peanut butter to chocolate and the texture is perfect!

Okay it has to be said since no one has. Boil weevil is KNOWN for their deserts they have this georgous display case of 7 of 7 layer high cakes and you can’t eat a single bit of it if your celiac. I asked the peanut butter pie is made on the same equipment at the same time as all of their other deserts.
If you’re going to feel left out watching your friends and family eat this deliciousness without you. Go somewhere else.
I have eaten here several times they have soem good salad, seasonal soup, and some chicken dishes etc that are gluten free naturally and I have never gotten sick it’s a small place with a southern Cajun inspired menu. Great lunch option.

We stopped by for lunch, the server was very knowledgeable about gluten “allergy”, not many gf options. I got a chef’s salad, which was fine and the peanut butter pie, which was fantastic.

Great, casual local gem on James Brown Blvd downtown by the River. The staff was wonderful: helpful and knowledgeable. GF and V items were clearly marked on the menu and they can also modify. The tomato apple soup was divine along with the peanut butter pie!!! I felt like a normal diner, which is such a blessing when you have an allergy. Highly recommend.
