The Cage in Audubon

Had a pretty terrible experience. Nothing on the menu was labeled gluten free, asked the waitress who said “yeah I just don’t know it’s like a new menu” and then “oh I know there’s things on the lunch menu “ There are two rice bowls on the Lunch menu gluten free. I asked if there was anything on the dinner menu. she grabbed a manager, the manager came over and apologized for the miscommunication because he thought they could do lunch for dinner but they won’t. I said “that’s okay I would like to have dinner for dinner “. Went through the entire menu and was pretty non accommodating. Everything I asked about that didn’t seem like it would have gluten he would respond with “oh that has breadcrumbs or flour “ at one point he asked if I could have something with just a little gluten in it. we came to the conclusion to have the risotto with just salmon. .. which was completely over cooked.

This place is trying way too hard to be trendy and cool and clearly no one has any knowledge on their menu or how gluten works. They should actually just train their staff instead.

And I did feel not well when I got home. Seriously not worth the hype. Not worth it at all for gluten free people.

Excellent food, service are decor! Staff very knowledgeable about gluten free. Several items marked gf on the menu. Had the Salmon bowl. So much flavor! Sensitive celiac.
