Review of The Cakerino Bake Shop

Spoke with the baker who stated that the same oven is used for all products (gluten containing and gluten free) and that they are all stored in the same cooler. I got a slice of cake. The staff member used a dirty knife to cut the cake and wrapped it in wax paper to cut the cake slice. When asked if the knife had touched gluten containing cake she stated "I wouldn't know but I did wrap it in plastic to cut this". This did not make me comfortable and I only ate a few bites of the cake because I was nervous. Also, the taste of the cake didn't appeal to my taste buds but that's very subjective! My boyfriend got a Oreo stuffed cookie that contained gluten and also didn't enjoy the taste.

Overall I would not suggest this place to someone with a high gluten sensitivity like myself. I appreciated that the baker comeing out to talk with me, but I feel the general approach to storing and handilng the gluten free items could get someone very sick.
