The shrimp and grits were excellent with a nice, creamy sauce. The waitress accidentally brought the appetizer portion (instead of the dinner portion) which had about 5 shrimp. I ordered a 2nd one because it wasn't big enough for dinner, and the price was $1 more than the dinner portion so no biggie. Probably got more shrimp that way! No negative side effects a day or two later, so I feel confident recommending this place. No GF menu-- I called ahead and asked about this menu item. I suggest doing that if you expect to eat there during a peak meal time to avoid the server having to run back & forth to the kitchen to ask about various entrees.

Limited gluten-free options. Food was fine, nothing spectacular. My husband enjoyed his non-gf meal.

Nice atmosphere and great service. No GF menu but the waitress was very knowledgeable about GF options on the menu. I had the shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious.

I went here twice for dinner on my trip and had a very positive experience both times. The server knew every single item on the menu that could be made gluten free and was very kind. I had a horseradish salmon dish with risotto and asparagus the first night and shrimp and grits the second night. Both meals were delicious!

The food was amazing and they have a separate gluten free menu! The options on the menu are a perfect variety. The chef came out to ask questions about my specific food needs and returned after the meal was served. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return.

Have eaten there many times and attended many events including my own wedding catered by the Chelsea. They're great! Owners and staff knowledgeable about allergies. Food is excellent and location is nice in historic downtown New Bern.
