Most of the meat entrees— steaks, pork chops, etc.— are listed “GF without seasoning blend.” The filet medallion entree is something that is a daily special preparation, and the GF menu states that they are gluten free as long as they don’t contain a certain sauce. The special on the day we went was pepper crusted filet medallions with mushrooms in a red wine sauce. I asked the waiter if this particular preparation was GF, and told him that if it was then that’s what I’d like to order. When our food came, I was served dry, completely unseasoned (not even salt & pepper) steak with dry mushrooms. The steak was over cooked as well. If the waiter had told me that that was how it had to be prepared in order to be GF I definitely would have chosen something different. My guess is that any steak or chop that is served “without seasoning blend” would be similarly bland. I can’t imagine a steak house not offering some sort of alternative seasoning— even if it’s only salt and pepper and maybe a little butter or olive oil— in order to make their food palatable. While I didn’t get sick, I don’t think we’ll be going back.
