Lots of GF offerings! Husband ate there with no cross-contamination issues. Only wish they had more than one GF dessert offering (but their creme brûlée was great).

The Colington Cafe is such a gem! We ate here twice during our trip to Nags Head. Food was completely safe (I have celiac and tasted so much of the menu), extraordinarily delicious and the place has incredible service. We ate outside in the cute gazebo and on the porch- truly an excellent dining experience. As a tip- the creme brûlée is the best I’ve ever eaten.

Separate gf menu. The food was delicious as always. Felt very safe and I didn’t get sick. Will be back. I had filet mignon with crab meat and shrimp in a bernaise sauce.

Our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free and was very helpful. They brought us gluten free crackers instead of bread. My son had the GF Beef brochettes with grilled shrimp - he said it was amazing.

Well, did not get sick! Overall was a great meal. Started with the brie appetizer. They brought out a basket of gluten filled bread and GF crackers. Sent it back and explained that the crackers couldn’t touch the bread. Got that all sorted out and it was yummy. Had the filet with lump crab meat for dinner, was very tasty. Ordered the creme brûlée for dessert, the waitress made note that she would order it without the sugar cookie on top, still came out with the cookie, but got that sorted out as well. Very nice restaurant, waitress was great, the kitchen just maybe needs to freshen up on GF training.

Don't come if you're GF for medical reasons. Walked in and was told by the host point-blank that the kitchen wouldn't bother avoiding cross contamination. Very disappointed.

Meh. They had gf food but it wasn't very good. I was looking forward to the crab dip but it was very bland and boring. I got the salad with pears and blue cheese and that was the best part. The creme brulee was meh too. Bland. Wouldn't return.
Fantastic food in a quaint atmosphere. The entire staff was very aware of celiac disease. No issues at all. They even offered to modify anything that wasn't gf on the menu. Wonderful experience. Make sure you call ahead for reservations.

Very great food and gluten free menu. My son and I had the grilled and sautéed shrimp and the creme brûlée for dessert. It was excellent!!
The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. The restaurant is in an old house, with a nice atmosphere - date, family celebration or just a nice dinner out. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and the gluten-free menu is extensive.
You should definitely get a reservation - they start taking reservations at 3 pm for dinner, and they only seat 5 pm to 8 pm. We went at 6 pm, and we heard the only open tables were at 8 pm at that point.
My husband and I started with the Scallops Rumaki (bacon wrapped scallops) and the hot crab dip with gluten free crackers (also oat-free). Both were absolutely delicious. We split the filet as our entree, and they brought us our own plates with servings of the sides (herb green beans and mashed potatoes the day we were there). Both the presentation and taste were excellent. Our party also tried the lump crab, shrimp, local tuna, and mahi, and everyone gave rave reviews.
After you finish eating, they bring out the dessert tray to show, and none of us could resist. The creme brûlée is gluten free without the cookie, and in my husband's (gluten-eating) opinion was the best of the desserts at the table. Since I couldn't eat the cookie, the waitress brought me a dish of chocolate ganache, which was groan-worthy delicious. It reminded me of hot chocolate in Europe.
Overall, the meal was absolutely excellent and there was zero cross contamination - I felt completely fine afterward and I am relatively sensitive. I definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
