We visited tonight. After reading the reviews I was a little concerned. I ended up calling and they explained it would be very safe and that they pay attention to those with allergies. We took a chance and glad we did. Our server Ty from New York, went over the entire menu in depth, ensuring that our meal was going to be gluten free. The food came out and they again ensured it was not contaminated. The food was delicious, the service was on point and it was a great experience.

Ordered simple sushi options that I knew would be a safe choice. It wasn’t amazing but just ok. Didn’t get sick. My gluten eating family loved their food😂

I had heard this was a safe enough* place to eat …. Upon arriving and speaking to our server, I really didn’t feel great about eating there as a highly sensitive celiac. I ended up ordering loaded fries from the appetizer menu. I didn’t get sick, but I also didn’t eat that much. The fries and “cheese” were cold and the dish in general was disgusting. Our server wasn’t highly knowledgeable but acted as though she was. Never saw a manager. My son also has celiac and his order was all wrong but she swore it was gluten free. Just didn’t feel safe and quite honestly was shocked neither of us got sick.

We ate there as part of the Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine experience. We told our waitress about our dietary needs and she called the chef out to take our order. Had the bento box with regular fries, as the sweet potato fries are not gf. Food came out marked and was very yummy! I did not get sick.

Not a lot of options here. I was told they sometimes use the dedicated fryer so they wouldn’t recommend us eating the fries. I had a veggie sushi roll w/ gf soy sauce.

My waitress asked if I am just sensitive or Celiac and that gives so much comfort when the waitress understands your needs. She said the fries are supposed to be made in a dedicated fryer but sometimes they share it and she didn’t recommend the fries since I am very sensitive. Had edamame & sushi with GF soy sauce. Didn’t get sick.

All I can say is they look out for you. I had ordered a roll, and Mimi, our waiter, came out and told me the chefs could not guarantee it would be safe, so I got a different one. The OMG roll, they substituted the coconut shrimp for just steamed shrimp. I was surprised that the spicy Mayo isn’t GF, but I was content with what I had.

They claim to have GF offerings — not many — but I don’t think there was much understanding of Celiac. We left with stomach aches.

Very attentive and knowledgeable waiter. Provided tamari without being asked. Menu has items marked GF. Quality of sushi was marginal.

I had been here a few years ago and really enjoyed it came today and was really excited to try them out again! well I was really disappointed. Their fries are marked gluten free, the very gluten free clueless waiter had to ask the kitchen and there is cross contamination. I asked about the sushi burgers, he wouldn't even ask the kitchen about any gluten free options for those. It was a weird experience. Manager was rude. Had to ask for tamari even after we talked 3 times about my gluten allergy. It was all a mess and worst universal meal by far. This was all very surprising as we had an amazing food time other wise!!

Asked the waitress about gf options, as there were not a ton marked on the menu. She said any of the burgers could be made with a gf bun and she would bring out tamari if I got sushi, as the soy sauce on the table was not ok. I chose a cute little bento box with sushi, a slider on a gf bun, edamame, pickled cucumber, and French fries. The box came with sweet potato fries, but the server advised me up front that I had to switch to regular bc the sweet potato fries were breaded. She was knowledgeable and I felt very safe eating there. Everything was delicious!

Celiac son got Spicy Yellowtail roll prepared GF and I ordered a Philadelphia roll GF so he could have some of mine. Paired that with a dish of edamame with Sriracha sea salt. Delicious!!

Staff was knowledgeable. Had a burger.

Few gluten “sensitive” options willing to modify others.
Had lovely veggie sushi. And staff was very knowledgeable and kind! I would definitely go again!

They acted knowledgeable, but when I got my burger it had a piece of onion straw on it. Probably from my husbands burger. He eats gluten and had that on his gluten burger. So that made me question their allergy practices. Then all 3 of our gf buns were frozen. The manager had them remake all 3 of our meals and it ended up being an ok meal. It was not the greatest burger. Out of all the places we ate while staying at Universal this was the ONLY restaurant that didn’t immediately get a chef to come talk with us and the only restaurant to make an allergy mistake. I would suggest eating somewhere else.

Our server Cassandra was fantastic and knew the menu forward and back. My wife is GF and my current diet also won’t allow it. She knew exactly what changes to make!
They are VERY limited in the gluten free options and NOT teally Caeliac friendly. AVOID!!!
Delicious sushi, amazing huge burgers on gf buns(they can modify pretty much any hamburger to be gluten free) dedicated fryer, and a very knowledgeable staff. Manager brought my food out seperate to avoid contamination. I will absolutely be back!

I had the yummiest burger with a GF bun of course! Our server had the chef come to the table and go over everything I could and couldn’t have and it was fabulous! I felt super safe and comfortable and the chef even brought my food out to me so there was no chance of cross contamination!
Yes
Not many options (I’m even more limited as I’m allergic to fish as well) but the options we did have were DELICIOUS. Had the vegetarian rolls and edamame, and they had GF soy sauce as well. Staff was great and very helpful. No reaction.
Very easy to order. I got a “bare” burger with lettuce, onion, & avocado and a side of their grilled mixed vegetables. They did everything free of gluten, dairy, soy, & nut.
Limited sushi options, which I feel with a bit more effort they could adapt for GF. Unable to have any rolls, but had sashimi... essentially a bowl of raw fish on it's own. I asked for a bowl of sushi rice and they had GF soy sauce (unsure why they couldn't make rolls with this) so had a tasty self made sushi. Did have GF burger bun options. Unable to have any deserts or milkshake due to contamination risk. Limited options but some tasty, safe options none the less. Would have gone back despite limited choice.

The staff took great care in making sure I wasn’t “glutened”. First hamburger I have had since being diagnosed with Celiac disease and the gluten free bun was actually pretty good. The meat and toppings are so good that it was an excellent meal. I was warned that fries are cooked in a shared fryer, so I had the cucumbers as my side. I love them anyway so all in all a very good meal that I could eat without concern.

Great food and excellent staff! They take gluten sensitivity very seriously.

Staff very knowledgeable. GLUTEN FREE SUSHI!!! Delicious & I did not get sick
In City Walk for Universal theme park!!! $20 parking, mass parking garage and security check to get in!!! Just be aware. Food and service was great. We just got caught off guard with location and by the time we realized -- it was too late. Live and learn :/
Server was extremely attentive to our needs. Chef even suggested replacement items in rolls for no charge! Food was delicious.

Cowfish is a family favorite, and I'm happy I can eat there comfortably and safely. There is not a huge GF selection on the menu, but what there is I feel I can trust and the staff are well aware and will ask about any food allergies they need to be aware of when they ask for your order.

They have a dedicated fryer folks! I had a burger and fries. Both were delicious. I was surprised by the bun and turns out they serve Udi's brand as the GF bun option. The server was knowledgeable about food allergies saying what they can make gluten/dairy free. I enjoyed my meal and had no ill effects. I highly recommend this place.
