I saw with my own eyes them handling bread with gluten then touching my food without washing or wiping their hands. And yes I told them I was coeliac when ordering. Huge risk of cross contamination.

They’ll tell you 99% of their menu is GF but this is BS. Half their menu is burgers with gluten buns which are tossed around the kitchen with no regard.

I also told them I had a dairy allergy and proceeded to get a burger that had clearly had cheese put onto it then scraped off with tons of cheese residue. I’m not sure how they got such positive reviews in the past but clearly their allergen awareness is now zero. Can’t trust this place.

When I brought the above to their attention, I got an eye roll and no apology.

This place is amazing. Only 1 thing on menu that is not GF and that’s the garlic bread else all is free of gluten and made in house, even the sauces. Sadly didn’t have any dounuts left (supply issue) but the brownie was amazing still. If we lived in Rotorua we would be eating here regularly.

If you are in the mood for delicious BBQ eat here! Plenty of GF options and the dedicated fryer offers a variety of yummy fried foods. Had pulled pork, onion rings, calamari and a large pour of wine. Very friendly service!

Would highly recommend! The staff are very knowledgeable of coeliac! 98% of menu is GF! We ordered the ‘light smoked for 2’ and swapped the garlic bread for coleslaw. We also ordered the cinnamon donuts and ice cream for dessert. Definitely worth trying if your in town.

Totally recommend this restaurant - everything is gluten-free (except gluten burger buns & garlic bread). We had buttermilk chicken burgers, chicken tender kids meal, fries, calamari, pork belly bites and BBQ ribs. So delicious!

Are here twice - no reaction.

The kitchen is gluten free except two bread items (regular buns, garlic bread) and the staff are knowledgeable about gluten allergies. All friers are dedicated GF.

I enjoyed their fish & chips, slaw, salad, onion rings, burger, cider, and deserts. I recommend getting a veggie side (slaw or salad) for a little fiber to balance the meal.

This is the business, southern soul smokehouse that's basically all GF. Amazing burgers, doughnuts, pulled pork, wings, etc etc. The burgers would win "wellington on a plate" easily. V casual dining or takeaway. Even my almost vegetarian friend thought the pulled pork was amazing!

We are on holiday in Rotorua and visited twice! Not often are we able to to even order something as simple as fries. And donuts!! 4 family members are coeliac, and the waiter checked the one gluten burger was correctly ordered. Really tasty.

The venue is basic but the food was amazing. Raw ingredients and nothing processed so all ingredients are known. Only items on the menu to be avoided is garlic bread and hamburger buns but GF buns are available. Scrummy and recommended

This place is amazing! I am celiac and they are great no contamination risk as everything is made from scratch and non-g.f buns etc are ordered out so flour is not in the kitchen. The food is amazing! I'm so happy I found this place. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Can eat anything but garlic bread and mud cake everything else is gluten free :-)

Amazing place to eat, my daughter is gluten free and we were very happy to find a restaurant which caters to everyone with delicious food and excellent service 98% of the menu is gluten-free. The smokehouse sauce is amazing. Also they were very accommodating to my husband who is on Keto diet.

Extensive gluten free menu with only two things not available gluten free (garlic bread and chocolate cake). They ask about allergies at the beginning. Best thing is the donuts. Kids and hunny who are gluten eaters liked the food too, although they only have one vegetarian option - burger. I thought prices were very reasonable for a restaurant. Loved the pork bites.

Cannot recommend this place enough. The owner(?) was so friendly, fun, and personable and we appreciated the laidback nature of the place. The BBQ was top-notch and my burger was as tasty as any I have had in the states. All for a very affordable price. Also safe for celiac as pretty much their entire menu is gluten free without much risk of cross-contamination.

Really expensive especially considering our gluten free buns were dry and stale. The non-gluten free members of the family were happy with their burgers though.

Delicious burgers and more! The only non gluten free items on the menu are a burger bun and garlic bread (they also have gf buns). Gluten free fryer with options for onion rings, calamari, fries (or chips if your from NZ). I would definitely go back! The staff was knowledgeable about what was in all the menu items and how they are prepared. Easy to ask questions and get good answers.
