The Galax Smokehouse

After reading the previous reviews, I was very excited to visit this super cute diner/restaurant. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst bbq plates I've ever had :-( The meat was incredibly tough, serving size was very small and somehow my food still ended up being cross contaminated. I am guessing it came from the homemade chips. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Super disappointing and not reasonably priced.

Dedicated fryer for their homemade chips!! When I asked about gf no less than three employees came and talked about their menu and procedures. All sauces gf and most of the sides. I had ribs, slaw, and their amazing fried potatoes (chips) and was in heaven. Definitely give them a try!

My celiac kiddo was happy with the selection of safe meats and sauces. The waitress seemed fairly knowledgeable and asked those cooking if she wasn’t sure about any of it. Good food! Very casual.

All of the meats are gluten free. Cole slaw is gluten free. Waitress was very understanding and knowledgeable about Celiac Disease. She explained which sides were gluten free and all of the sauces are gluten free. The BBQ pork was delicious!
