Waiter had zero idea for gluten free options for me. As recommended by someone on here about the shrimp and scallops over potatoes he said I could not have. Very disappointing watching everyone eat delicious food I cannot have

I love The Garlic! The atmosphere is beautiful and unique with an Italian/jungle feel. It has several dining rooms and two bars. Some areas are open air. As you walk down the path toward the dining rooms, you can watch them cook in the 800 degree oven on the left. There is usually live music playing at any given time After you’re seated, they serve a roasted head of garlic, which they smash at the table and douse with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The loaf of bread comes hot on a bread board. Although most of what I’d really want isn’t gf, I can make due with the many options. FYI-THE GF MENU IS ONLINE ONLY Kim was our waitress last night. She understood gf well. She brought me the roasted garlic head with a bowl of cucumbers. It wasn’t bread, but it was something to put the oil and garlic on. For my dinner, I ordered a garden salad, the appetizer lamb lollipops (3) and the Brussels sprout side. Just the right amount of foods, with some to take home. It was delicious. Kim told me about the gf peanut butter pie dessert that is made with gf Oreos, which they don’t broadcast as gf, since it scares most people away. It was light and not too sweet (just how I like things), and big enough to share. I have no hesitations eating here. Be prepared to wait, though. They don’t take reservations. It’s that good.

I love “The Garlic” and I’ve been going to it for probably more than 20 years. The food is great, and the atmosphere is better. But unfortunately, I acquired this pesky gluten intolerance a few years ago, and now my “Garlic” experiences will never be the same. They don’t have a gluten free menu. They don’t have gluten free pasta. The house salad with oil and vinegar is pretty safe. They make the best shrimp and scallop scampi, but you have to enjoy it with their garlic mashed potatoes…😢

3 words: PEANUT BUTTER PIE.
This delicious pie was made with GF “Oreo” crust! No, this pie is not on the GF menu nor is it advertised as GF on their dessert menu (because the Florida Boomers would never be able to taste the difference), but our lovely & GF-knowledgeable waitress, Anna, informed us that it was, in fact, made with 100% GF ingredients! It felt like getting let in on the best-kept secret EVER. So, here I am passing it along to you. You’re welcome. (I recommend double-checking with your server before ordering—I am not sure about cross-contamination, but I did not have any reactions).
I enjoyed the salmon and caesar salad—topped with homemade GF caesar dressing AND crunchy baked cheese on top. *chef’s kiss*
The Garlic is my new favorite spot in NSB! The food is incredible and the quirky, eclectic atmosphere is unforgettable.

Wonderful experience. Our server, Carl, had two nieces with celiac disease and was quite knowledgeable. He helped me find the perfect item that was safe and made accommodation so I could have a wonderful dinner!
The Garlic has a gluten free menu online.

There are no gluten free guarantees at this restaurant. They are known for their pasta and bread. So the kitchen you can imagine is a gluten factory. The server semi knew what celiac was and assured me a few menu items could be made gluten free. I had salmon with steamed veggies and potatoes. I felt suspect as I was eating, and only ate a quarter of my dinner. I ended up getting super sick after. The atmosphere is awesome here, and it’s really a cool spot. But if you are a celiac or gluten sensitive, I would not eat here.
Very little options and they could not guarantee they would be gluten free

I called recently to get info and was told, rather curtly, that they have no gf options and don’t make exceptions.
Phenomenal service! Our server gave cucumbers instead of bread for dipping in the garlic. Plenty of dishes can be made gluten free. And there's even a gluten free peanut butter pie! So delicious.
Yes
The Garlic does not have a gluten free specific menu or any markings on the menu of what was gluten free, but the server was very knowledgeable and most of the meat dishes, along with some of the appetizers and sides, were gluten free. We had the salmon, lamb lollipops, and escargot and it was all delicious! The Garlic overall has a unique, awesome atmosphere and tasty food.
This is such a popular place and always so busy. The only gluten free options are the steaks with no seasoning and no sauces. All their sauces have flour. Such a beautiful space but very disappointing food options.
