This is a keeper! I had the Rueben and it was amazing! Grilled on amazing gluten free bread! Gluten free cookies and brownies! Wow! Great Service in a restored old home! So thankful we happened to find this place to our trip home. Worth the short jaunt off the highway!

Omg, this is worth the stop off the highway! Such lovely people, and I felt completely safe. I had the chicken salad (which was next level by itself), on canyon bread and chips and it was just what I was looking for! When I looked longingly at the pastry case (all the gf is in the same case but on a separate shelf from the gluten), the team went in the back and surprised me with a banana chocolate muffin and it’s was amazing!! Such a great team with great food, totally recommend!!

Left early this morning for a college tour in VA and wanted to make a pit stop for food and caffeine about halfway and this fit the bill. This Historic home turned bustling small town restaurant and cafe turned out to be the perfect place! We were really hoping for a basic breakfast versus a sandwich (they sub gf bread for biscuits) so they gave us eggs (any way), a meat and GF toast a la carte. Turned out to be a huge portion of eggs, two slices of toast and two slices of bacon or one sausage in our case. My teen got a hot chocolate and I got a PSL. We also took two muffins to go for breakfast at the hotel along with the last cookie which we shared in the evening. Breakfast was filing and neither of us got sick. The drinks were good. The cookie was extremely soft and flavorful. Literally forgot it was gf. Looking forward to eating the muffins tomorrow!

I visited here twice during my visit to Abingdon. Each time I had cold brew and almond pastries ((top shelf of the pastry case retrieved with separate tongs) and had the Hungry Savage Panini and Julia's Napa Chicken Salad. Both sandwiches were delicious but the chicken salad was really something special. YUM! So glad to have a freshly-baked pastry as well! Staff were all helpful and informative. And, I didn't feel ill afterward either time which tells me they take it seriously. Wonderful!
Absolutely delicious. The waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. My husband and I each ordered a different sandwich on GFbread (the Reuben and the Hungry Savage) and shared and they were both phenomenal. Plus one of the best bloody Marys I've had!

The owner Hugh, besides being a warm and friendly guy, also knows all about celiac as his daughter has it too. We had a delicious breakfast sandwich and a GF cookie. Definitely recommend pulling off the highway and checking out this gem.

This is such a cool café. Delicious coffee with beans roasted on site. They have some GF baked goods in the case, loved the tea cake! Most menu items can be served on good gf bread instead of a biscuit. Great vibe and super friendly owners. I love the story behind this place, too.

I had the “bluegrass biscuit” which is scrambled eggs, cheese and your choice of bacon, sausage or avocado on two slices of gluten free bread. Delicious! They also had three baked options on the day I visited - large sugar cookie, brownie and cranberry and white chocolate bars. It has become a regular stop when we are traveling north on I-81.

Best experience ever!! The staff was so wonderful and the hospitality was great! The owner sat down at our table and we learned that his daughter also has Celiac so the procedures they take are very cautious. The food was fantastic and we will definitely come back here again! Highly recommend the turkey melt sandwich!!

Excellent atmosphere. Staff knowledgeable about cross contamination, celiac and allergy issues. Food was excellent as were the tea and lattes. We stopped here on our cross country trip and I would definitely drive out of my way to come back.

Excellent breakfast experience. Yummy Gluten free bread option for toast as well as sandwiches. Amazing Gluten free desserts available. Cheesy grits had the perfect kick to them. My husband, who loves food and travels a lot, said it was the best bacon and biscuit he ever had. Restaurant is in old, charming house but very bright and very clean! As my husband said, “a keeper”! We’ll be back!
