The Golden Lion

Unfortunately I was glutened at this venue. I took all reasonable steps to prevent this such as putting it on my booking, making the server aware and clarifying when my food arrived that it was the gluten free version. I was very poorly after actually enjoying the food and ambience of the pub but not worth a return trip. I do think I was served gluten containing food not just cross contamination as my reaction was very quick. I did call and make the pub aware and the manager apologised and stated they would look into this.

Amazing atmosphere, lovely friendly staff making all feel welcome. Lots of GF and GFO which was refreshing. Excellent food, I chose house special burger gluten free option and it was so delicious and for a moment I felt like I wasn’t eating gluten free. Made my day.
