I love their pizzas with cauliflower crust. Maybe they did away with them for a while, but the last time I went not long ago they were available. I haven’t been back since being diagnosed Celiac, so I haven’t been able to ask about cross-contamination.

I am only gluten intolerant but when I went recently in Nov 2021 they had cauliflower crust as a gluten free option on their pizzas. It was okay but not my favorite. They had other GF items l saw like certain salads and proteins but not much.

The gluten free items are marked on the menu. Mostly salads and proteins, did not have gluten free bread on sandwiches or pizza crust. I had a berry chicken salad and it was great! I did have some stomach issues a few hours later, have heard candied pecans (on the salad) can have gluten. I also have an egg allergy and I’m still new at the gluten free diet so it may have been something else.
They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I used to love The Grotto. I’ve eaten here ever since they came to Springfield. I found out I had celiac around the same time they did away with their pizzas, including their gluten free crust. They also used to have gluten free hamburger buns but have done away with them too. Their food is great, but they haven’t been accommodating to those with gluten sensitivities/celiac disease like they used to. Pretty disappointed.
This would be a 5 Star review, had I reviewed about 8 months ago. Their burgers are well cooked, sure, but they no longer offer gluten free buns even though they used to which just feels like a step back. They used to have great gluten free pizza too, but they canned it even longer ago. One star because I feel betrayed by somewhere that used to cater to my diet needs but does no longer.
Several gf offerings but the menu warns possible cross-contamination. I'm gf for my joints so we'll see. Might hesitate if I had other issues. Pizza is great tho!
Yes
I used to eat here until dx Celiac. I emailed and was told very frankly that they do not try to avoid cross contamination and would take no extra measures to make sure the meal is safe.
Their gluten free pizza was soooo good! You can get a 3 topping 10 inch for $10. It beats dominoes in taste and price. We are not celiac, so I don't know how "clean" their gf really is, but we did great and loved it! Also their sweet potato fries appear to be gf too. Yay!
Great gf pizza!
