Review of The Hall's Pizza Kitchen

I’ll start by saying I am generally not the most sensitive to cross contamination, but this experience was different. I was in town visiting my sister for her birthday and we went to Saturday brunch at Hall’s with a few of her friends. The restaurant was not very busy and we were seated upstairs indoors, which had a nice view of the city. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, stopping by often to check if we needed anything and bringing refills without being asked, which was great! I ordered the love you brunches gluten free pizza and the rest of the group ordered pizzas to share. When the pizzas came out, mine was distinctly different as it was more of a personal sized pizza while the gluten containing pizzas were rather large. The crust looked different from the other pizzas as well, which was reassuring. The pizza was amazing and I enjoyed every bite. On our way home, my stomach began to cramp up and I felt shooting pains in my head. Again, I don’t usually have a big reaction to cross contamination, but this time was different. After taking some meds the symptoms got less severe, but came back with vengeance in the evening. I’m writing this on Monday from bed after spending all of yesterday traveling back home to Michigan while dealing with the stomach symptoms of eating gluten/something that was cross contaminated. If I ever were to return in the future, I’d definitely be sure to ask to speak with the chef about if they put flour on the tray before baking the pizza and other procedures used in the kitchen. I understand this is not a dedicated facility, but I’ve never had a reaction like this to pizza at any other restaurant.
