The Hen & The Hog

I was so optimistic about this based on reviews! Beware. I ordered the grilled cheese with GF bread. My mom ordered a burger with no bun (she’s GF by choice, I have Celiac). My mom’s burger arrived WITH the bun. This made me nervous, so I went up to the counter with my plate and asked if mine was made with GF bread. The manager brushed me off and said, “It should be.” And then turned back to the kitchen to keep chatting. It left me very nervous about the safety of my food and that my dietary needs weren’t taken into account. I probably won’t be back; training on allergies and safety didn’t seem to be here. I’ll update my review if I end up reacting.

This little place was a gem! Many items on the menu notes as gluten free and very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Would highly recommend.

Waitress made sure everything was gluten free down to our drinks. The food was amazing! I had the grilled cheese and the bread was soo good! Very difficult to find that most places. Didn’t get sick at all and I’m very sensitive.

Gluten free items are marked on the menu. Fryer is not celiac safe. Ciders in the menu. The specialty entrees (“The Hen” and “The Hog”) are both GF (and the sides) and we’re delicious! We also ate the pork belly (bread on the side). We had very good service!
