The Hichborn is a beautiful fine dining restaurant in a historic sea captain’s house. Fantastic prix fixe farm to table menu. I called the restaurant ahead of time to let them know that I have celiac disease. I was told Chef Charlie could accommodate me although they do not have a dedicated gf kitchen they are careful with food prep and cross contamination. THE MEAL WAS AMAZING. Starting with the amuse bouche of pate served on a cucumber slice (instead of brioche) ending with the vegan cheesecake with a coconut crust - every bite was delicious and felt entirely safe. So good!!! I felt great after the meal - no celiac symptoms. Now if only they had a gf version of their famous coconut cream pie…I’d move in :)
