The Ice Cream Smuggler

What a wonderful spot! This was the best ice cream I’ve had on the Cape so far! They have gluten free cones and offered to use a fresh tub with a cleaned scoop! I was impressed!

When I mentioned my daughter had celiac the woman behind the counter offered to open a new tub of hrs flavor preference, used a new scoop, and washed her hands before doing all of this. Amazing!

GF Snickers ice cream!!! Staff was very knowledgeable about what flavors were gf. They had gf cones and washed hands and scooped from a fresh container for me.

The Smuggler was great! My daughter wanted a brownie sundae and when she ordered the GF brownie they asked her right away if she was celiac. When she said yes, the server said She would wash her hands first. Then served her the most delicious and safe sweet treat! The staff has certainly been trained properly! Kudos to The Smuggler!

They scooped ice cream from the back. Hot fudge was gluten free. They had gluten free cones. Our sever also happened to have celiac. Cash only.

This place is awesome! The servers were very knowledgeable about what is and is not gluten free, and scoop from the back with a fresh scoop. So happy to also be able to get a cone which was also delicious!

They didn’t have a gf list but the server was knowledgeable. Pretty much any flavor but things with cookies and some candy pieces. They are able to scoop out of fresh bins, and after taking my order the server immediately went to wash her hands. It was so nice to have our pick of flavors and I was thrilled that nobody got sick. Yay!

I told them I have a gluten allergy and they pulled my ice cream from the back so that no cross contamination happened with the scoopers. Their hot fudge is gluten free and their ice cream is great.

Love their ice cream! They have gluten free cones available. They can change their gloves and use a different scooper if you ask. I definitely would recommend this place

I saw this ice cream shop on a GF guide to the Cape. I am so happy we decided to give it a try. You can’t imagine the joy on my 11 year old celiac daughter’s face when the woman behind counter explained their allergy policy. She gave the rest of us our ice cream and took my daughter’s order, she then went into the back and washed her hands before taking a clean scoop into their storage freezer to get scoops from unopened ice cream containers and put it all in a GF CONE!! We have a delicious ice cream place within walking distance but they only offer a small handful of flavors to people with food allergies and celiac. I will happily drive 20 minutes to Smuggler from now on to see that smile on my daughter’s face when she gets to be just like the other kids.
