They’re currently working with only 1 fryer (which every employee had to check when asked), so this appears to be relatively normal for them and not a short-term problem in the September reviews. It took three tries to get a burger that I felt safe eating (which, in fairness, the waitstaff were very kind about). The burger was fine, and on what was clearly the small Schar rolls, but essentially the only option.

Incredible beef bourguignon, so tender! They said the mashed potatoes were also dairy free?! That sounds too good to be true though. Great restaurant for the gluten eating people in the family as well- their pot pie looked amazing. Didn’t order the gf fish and chips but they looked really good. It’s a dog friendly pub so lots of people had their dogs inside which we loved but wanted to mention here in case anyone has a dog allergy as well :)

Celiac: Poorly the fryer was broken (I read this by another recommendation) and there so many people, that we have to wait for 45 minutes to get a table. The offer for me would be a salad. Generally in Portree you NEED ABSOLUTELY a reservation in every restaurant.

Typical pub, fun experience if you don’t mind a noisy and rowdy crowd. The owner came over to point out what could be gf. They normally have a separate fryer but it was broken, so options were very limited—I just had a burger and mashed potatoes, which was my only choice, I think. The food was fine, nothing spectacular, but since we had gotten in late and didn’t have reservations anywhere, we were just happy to eat.
