I was really hoping to find a dedicated gluten-free place in New Haven where I could let my guard down. However, when I told the person running the register, I had celiac she said we only sell gluten-free things however, our toaster is a shared toaster and we occasionally put Gluten in the toaster, so it’s not celiac safe, even though the bread that we sell is gluten-free. Although I appreciate her sharing this, I was very disheartened by a dedicated gluten-free restaurant not being dedicated gluten-free or being fully safe

I got the avocado toast. It was good! Paid about 10$ for it, for 2 little slices of bread (kinda like Udi’s). Probably wouldn’t go there again bc of the price, but it was nice to be able to stop somewhere in downtown New Haven and get a safe, quick lunch.

Had the green smoothie bowl which was very good! They have one thing in their refrigerator that has gluten in it (some sort of edamame) but it doesn’t come in contact with their bowl/smoothie prep area so they told me there was no chance of cross-contact. The gf bread has dairy in it.

A nice oasis for a traveling celiac to get a tasty smoothie or a light meal.

Cute little place, it has acai bowls, smoothies but also toast and different snacks. They told me everything was gluten free. I wanted to know if their oats were certified gf, so they called someone and told me they were. Staff wasn’t really well trained on gluten or their ingredients, but they were willing to inform elsewhere and maybe they just started when I got there. I felt assured enough to order.
I got a almond butter acai bowl that was delicious. Downside was that the acai bowl wasn’t properly mixed, got some big frozen chunks of strawberry still in there. But overall good experience.
