Had a salad from here with no reaction. I wouldn’t trust much else

I ordered takeout for delivery via Waitr and had a great experience. I ordered the steak as well as the bacon wrapped shrimp app. The restaurant called me to let me know the fries included with the steak were not celiac safe and recommended I choose mashed potatoes instead. It was all very yummy and I didn’t get sick!
Update/edit: I returned for a second time and stayed at the Hilton where The Lab is located, ordering room service. The person who took my order over the phone seemed confused about what gluten free/celiac meant. However their online menu denotes what is safe and I had previously had the bacon wrapped shrimp without getting sick, so that’s what I ordered again and was just fine. I’m guessing the labor shortage is impacting the quality/allergen knowledge of their staff. I’d eat there again (and probably will) but next time will go down in person or ask to speak to a manager for peace of mind. It was concerning to me that a restaurant in a nice hotel located on campus at a major hospital would have someone taking room service orders that was seemingly unfamiliar with gluten issues/celiac.

The waiter was unknowledgeable about the gluten free items, the “gf” fried foods are cooked in a shared fryer, and the food flavor was unimpressive. The best part of this restaurant was the water and music.

The Lab Bar and Kitchen has some excellent GF choices. My son with gluten allergy has enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and street tacos. I have no gluten problems and enjoyed the crispy chicken, soup, fruit and we both had a scrumptious breakfast and sent our compliments to their excellent chef.

The executive chef, Matthew, came to our table to prepare a special meal for my wife who has a gluten allergy. She also can not tolerate sugar, grains or nightshades. This was no problem at all for the chef and he assured us that he has a designated gluten-free kitchen area.
