The Place is touted as being celiac friendly which is why we chose to eat there. To their credit they have gluten free bread for most if not all of their items and they stated that they prepare their GF meals in separate kitchen area. They do not have a Gluten Free fryer, however. This eliminates the sides (fries, crispy potatoes, and chips) which are the only options offered with most sandwich entrees. They offered me a salad instead for an up charge. It also negates the chicken wing options, which happen to be incorrectly marked as gluten free on the menu. The food itself was delicious and there were only minor service issues that aren't worth extrapolating on here. If you are craving a classic sandwich such as a beef on weck, burger, or Buffalo Chicken then I'd suggest eating at the Place as long as you can go without the fries or chips (which looked so delicious). I had the beef on weck, on their gf kimelweck styled roll and did not get glutened. Also had the banana pepper dip with GF toast (was a rye-styled bread). The dip was mostly cream cheese with very little banana pepper flavor and no heat (spice). The server and staff seemed knwoledgeable about their protocol and menu, but certain menu items are marked GF even though they are fried in a gluten-shared fryer so 4/5 for safety. Make sure you ask questions.

Server was knowledgeable about GF products. Was able to order a fried chicken sandwich because they use rice flour. Just be sure to ask for extra napkins if you order jt because they aren’t afraid of sauce. Would go again to check out other items.

This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food. The owner is gluten sensitive, so there is a large menu of gluten-free options, including mac & cheese. You would love the environment here as it’s a fun., upbeat place!

I went with a friend and ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was coated in gf panko and I was told cooked on the grill. The roll was not great but it was toasted on the grill to reduce cross contamination. I wish they had a dedicated fryer but was happy with my side salad. It was a delicious meal and would return.

They dont have a separate gluten free fryer. It said in the reviews that they do thats why we came but apparently they dont have one. Service was eh. They seemed pretty understanding of celiacs but 🤷🏼♀. Probably wont come back here. Go to the burning buffalo. Much more options and they have a separate fryer.

I tried this place put due to good reviews and it did not disappoint. We are outside on the patio, while the bees were annoying the food was great! I had gf Mac and cheese that was very creamy and cheeses. The Mac and cheese was cooked in a cast iron skillet! I also had a gf beef on whick. Was not really on whick it was on a gf roll. While the beef was good and the sauce was gf, the roll did not hold up to moisturize in meat. It was kind of messy to eat, if I ordered again I would opt for the roll on side and make the sandwich in parts. Small price to way for GF food that was safe to eat!

I had the mac and cheese and the poached pear salad, both items were delicious, and I had no reaction. The staff was knowledgeable, and I was completely comfortable eating here. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Buffalo!

Jay (owner) and his team were excellent. The food was delicious, they had local ciders (naturally GF), and we left without a single bellyache...besides from being so full. We will absolutely be back and are so happy to have another restaurant in our GF arsenal.

We came here for lunch when where we had planned to go turned out to be closed.
Most menu items are gluten-free. Unfortunately the fish fry was just advertised as gluten-free it’s not really what you would expect a traditional western New York fish fry to be. It’s a lemon broiled fish. So my kids and I they did for gluten-free macaroni and cheese. It was very tasty and selling. My mother purchase the gluten-free a Reuben sandwich with roasted potatoes. We all enjoyed our meal immensely. The service was a little bit slow but the food was excellent.

Absolutely my favorite place to get gluten free food in Buffalo! I’m a Celiac and I’m super confident that the staff takes all the precautions necessary! From what I know the owner and their kids also have celiacs which makes me feel so much better about getting gluten free food from here. Last time I was there I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and mac and cheese GF, both were SOO GOOD seriously can’t recommend this place enough for my GF people! And of course everyone else they have the best food, drinks and staff!!

The family of 4 that owns it are gluten free so they know their stuff, and have trained their staff well! Very accommodating as well. Good nightlife scene too while being kid friendly, think upscale updated neighborhood Irish pub kind of thing.

The menu is clearly labeled which items are gluten free and which can have GF substitutions (bun, pasta, etc). Our server was helpful with my questions. I got a burger with a GF bun and was impressed to find that the buns are sourced from a local bakery, not sad frozen grocery store buns.
Yes
they have gluten free buns and are willing to make alterations to their food
