The menu is labeled, but I was told by the waitress that an item labeled as gluten free is not because it is cooked in a shared fryer. I ordered a grain bowl special and the waitress went over the ingredients with me. She didn’t seem particularly confident in the kitchen’s ability to avoid cross-contamination.

Delicious. Menu had gluten free markings. Salmon with green beans, sweet potatoes and side salad was delicious!

I eat here regularly as a celiac. Gf options limited to salad or bunless burger/grilled chicken but the salads are truly excellent and filling—especially with grilled chicken. Housemade dressings and excellent kids meal as well.

We spoke with the manager before settling in for a very nice meal. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and they took great care to ensure the meal was GF as my son has Celiac.
Yes
The Root has several GF options. The manager is GF but not Celiac. She spent over 15 minutes with us discussing their options and she is very knowledgeable about Celiac. The staff has been trained to take it very seriously.
