The Upper Bend

Cute coffee shop with extensive gluten-free options (as well as vegan choices) for breakfast and brunch. Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious as was the coffee and tea; they also have numerous sweet options. Staff seemed very knowledgeable about ingredients and were happy to discuss, and checked whether GF was due to allergy or preference. They do seem to designate items made using GF oats as gluten-free on the menu so if you are sensitive to oats you may want to confirm ingredients with staff. It's also very popular so fills up quickly on weekends around breakfast.

GF bread for sandwiches, which is the majority of the menu! There are a few dessert options as well. The GF bread is toasted separately to avoid cross contact. I had the grilled cheese and it was soo delicious!!!

Plenty of GF breakfast items, treats, and drinks. Items are marked on the menu and staff is friendly and can talk you through questions. I had the porridge, but I was also dying to try the GF burnt cheesecake, cornbread with yogurt and peaches and more! Lovely place!
