When we arrived, we asked about gluten free options and the hostess Joy shared with us that the owners have celiac disease and are highly conscientious about food preparation. The kitchen staff would change gloves and prepare my food away from any contaminants.
I ordered the catch of the day, blackened grouper. The dish came with a vegetable and a starch. I chose a caesar salad without croutons and mashed potatoes. The salad had fresh, shaved parmesan and the dressing was light and tangy. The fish was cooked and seasoned to perfection and was buttery and flaky. The potatoes were roughly mashed and chock full of tasty little pork belly pieces. Absolutely decadent!
Of course, the acid test is how my body reacts. I did not get sick. I would've been very surprised and disappointed if I had. Kudos to the staff.
If we lived in the area, I would weigh a metric ton, so back to the Midwest I go!
