Thunder Bay

My wife and I travel through Rockford several times a year and make Thunder Bay our lunch stop each time we drive through. Its lunch GF menu has good options, the servers were aware of cross contamination issues and we have had no problems, enjoying our meals each time.

I meant to write about this sooner but I ordered Prime Rib off the gluten free menu. It came back with Au Jus, so I told them that some Worcestershire sauces have gluten. Sure enough they checked their label and it did have gluten in it, I’m lucky they knew the whole prime rib piece gets dipped before plating it because I would’ve just avoided the au jus! They handled it well and remade it but because of what happened I can’t in good conscious give a good review since this was on the gluten free menu.

Sent a burger back I ordered gf, received it and it was a brioche. Sent it back and told them I needed a gf bun and new patty. Came back with the same patty and they admitted it. Sent it back again and I’m almost 100% sure they sent back the same patty. Stay away.

Beautiful restaurant with lots of space and festive decor.

Large gluten-free menu. Enjoyed the SALMON FRESCA. Salmon cooked well but slightly under seasoned, still enjoyable.

Our server, I believe her name was Brown, was friendly and helpful. Had good recommendations.

Food was excellent. Good variety, and waiter had knowledge of GF needs. I’m celiac and did not get sick.

Very good food. Friendly staff and a separate gluten free menu with lots of options.

They have a gluten free menu. Food was excellent. I had the Jumbalay Chicken. I was a little disappointed that our waitress did not know what dressings we're gluten free. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Gluten sensitive menu

Order off gluten sensitive menu. Ordered 4 cheese mushrooms , salad no croutons with ranch dressing, salmon with veggies. After I got home had terrible reaction spent most of evening in bathroom. Haven’t been glutened like that in a very long time

So Delicious! had the mushrooms and tuna for an appetizer and had the sirloin steak and veggies for the main dish....did not disappoint!

Had several meals here, the salmon which was delicious, and the fillet steak with vegetables and roast potatoes. All the food was very nice. Staff were helpful the first couple of times, but on our last visit our waiter was quite abrupt and rude. If he had been our waiter the first visit we would have never gone back.

We did not have a good experience at Thunder Bay. On a positive note they did have a nice GF menu, and we ordered the stuffed mushrooms and they came warm and delicious. On the negative side the rest of our food was cold. We had the steak skewers and a loaded baked potato, and both were cold and the steak was chewy. Also our waiter was always rushing around, which made it hard to get anything we needed. I hope others have a better experience than we did.
