Mexican restaurants are like a safe haven for Gluten Free people; most of the ingredients are corn based instead of wheat based. Mexican food has always been a favorite of mine and quesadillas are my favorite things to order at a Mexican restaurant. However, most every Mexican restaurant makes quesadillas with flour tortillas. I decided to go on a quest to find the best Mexican restaurant in Athens with hopes that they would be flexible and make my quesadilla with corn tortillas.Tlaloc is not in our usual stomping grounds, but not too far of a drive, so we gave it a shot and I am SO glad we did! I didn’t even have to ask for a specially made quesadilla because they already had corn tortilla quesadillas on the menu! But wait, the good news does not stop there: they are fried! Deliciously so! There are also some fun traditional Salvadorian dishes that we’ve tried that are equally delicious and Gluten Free!The wait staff is super friendly and usually the same people are working so you get to know them!
