Excellent cocktails. Had the lobster rolll on gluten free bread. Bread wasn’t ideal for the roll, but I knew that would be the case ordering it. Tasted great and zero issues!

I’m so confused about these reviews. There were only a few things marked as having gluten on the menu but when I asked about the hush puppies they had no idea and went to ask the kitchen who told them that they were NOT gluten free. They also didn’t have fried pickles on the menu at all. We left because I wasn’t confident anything was GF.

All the fried food was safe. And it was all so good. Only 2 items were marked to have gluten (Mac and cheese and one of their sauces). I haven’t had hush puppies and fried okra since 2016. They were cooked to perfection. Husband had gumbo and oysters. He’s a picky gumbo eater and really liked it. Oysters were priced great. And nice balcony seating with misters so you can people watch. Keep it weird Austin.

I could have sworn I reviewed this place years ago but I guess not!
TLC has been one of my go-to spots in Austin for several years now. I've never had an issue with any of their food. The hush puppies kind of mess with me, but I think that's mostly because they're so unhealthy.
Chicken salad sandwich & deviled eggs with bacon are my favorites!

Trust the other reviews, this place was great! I’d call this restaurant quietly gluten free- nothing is marked but practically everything is gluten free. As soon as I mentioned to our server about my allergy he assured me I was in good hands and only pointed out 2-3 items I couldn’t eat. Everything that goes in their frier is GF, I think they just don’t want to advertise it widely so that non-gf people don’t pull some “it must taste bad bc it’s gf” thing. I will say the food wasn’t top top tier for me (I’m from the south and can still remember all the delicious fried food I ate pre-diagnosis) but it was still really really tasty. Me and my non gf boyfriend both really enjoyed our meal there!

I found out about this place from this app. I actually ate fried food at a restaurant and left feeling well and not glutened! Apparently the owner has Celiac, and so all fried foods are safe. There are only a couple of things that are not gluten free. The fried oysters and brussel sprouts dishes were my favorite. You can order the boiled dishes with clarified butter, so if you can tolerate ghee- you are good!

Good happy hour space with lots of outdoor areas. We tried two cocktails, which were quite spicy! Also had the fried pickles and the hushpuppies. Love the hushpuppies - great crunch and nice dipping sauces to accompany both. They shared most things were GF on the menu with a few exceptions.

SOOO good!!! I have not had fried okra or hush puppies since being diagnosed with celiac. Everything here is gluten free besides the mac n cheese and the brownie. The owners relative has celiac so they totally understand the importance of cross contamination. We got the fried pickles and okra and hush puppies and a sandwich which was subbed onto gluten free white bread.

Good god this place is amazing. Items that ARE NOT gluten free are marked on the menu with a little wheat symbol- it’s just one sauce, bread for sandwiches and Mac and cheese. All fried items are gf. Holy shite the crab legs are amazing, with the garlic flavor and the lemon garlic butter. Sensory overload. Thought I was gonna die. Boyfriend and I (broke college students) splurged and ordered an extra half pound to share after we ate the first because it was so good. Boiled potatoes and onions and corn were also excellent in the garlic sauce with the lemon garlic butter. We will be back. Even though we can’t afford it. Owner has celiac apparently. Waiter was nice. Contactless during COVID- ordered online, food brought out but that was it.

I had passed by this place hundreds of times not realizing what amazing gluten-free options were here. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer and fry all of their items in a gluten-free blend. Items that contain gluten are clearly marked on the menu but most can be modified to be gluten-free. The chicken fried steak was excellent and the portions were quite generous.

I’m always nervous to try new places because I get so violently ill, but I felt very safe eating here. Almost the entire menu is gf and everything fried is safe. If I don’t throw up all night, you get 5 stars! Glad I ventured out, I will be back
