I used to think Tokyo was the best Japanese restaurant in town. They had an excellent sushi chef for many years. Life took us on a circle but we ended up back to Tuscaloosa and, eventually back to Tokyo. So here is my update, prices are reasonable. Per my guests who can eat sushi, they said the mean was okay, 3 stars. No onto the meal. I asked about whether they use real or artificial crab. The server became frustrated with me, said that it was good and quality, and didn’t answer my question but another worker in the restaurant said it was artificial. She was annoyed with me. Then asked for the scallop dinner, no hibachi sauce which she told me wouldn’t taste good. She said she would do it with the hibachi sauce on the side. She then scoffed at my asking for white rice instead of fried rice when the menu says that you have the option. I never found out wether the “noodles” were rice or wheat. Clearly the server believes that food allergies are not serious and I felt uncomfortable. Other members in my party may return but I don’t think I will.
