Gf edamame and items on the menu are marked with a flower that can be made GF. The edamame was excellent. More about the experience below:
We had an odd amount of time before our dinner reservation elsewhere. So when in SF… check out the Tonga room! Reminds me of the adult version of the tiki room in Disneyland. It rains, there’s thunder and lightening, we sat in an area that was like on a ship.
After 7pm if you are not a hotel guest, they charge $15 per table. But we were literally there when they opened at 5 so we left before then. The service was eh, you are definitely there for the environment. We had a drink and shared the GF edamame. Fun location to kill an hour of time!

Interesting place! Waitress knew what I could have and menu was marked. Food was okay, nothing spectacular. The plain white rice wasn’t gluten free for some reason, probably had malt vinegar. I stuck to wine so can’t say on the tiki drinks.

Atmosphere is fabulous but the food is not. I was adamant that I needed GF. I ordered the GF Kung Pow Chicken, it was salty, watery, and bland. The riced cauliflower was the worst I’ve ever had, tasteless and undercooked. The only shining star was the GF Baked Alaska. That how it gets one star. Didn’t make it out of the building/hotel before gastric distress set in. It was more than cross contamination. If you want ambiance and good rum drinks this is the spot. If you want good food look elsewhere.
