A few good taco options in a pinch. Chips are marked gf but are fried with gluten containing items. The manager can tell you what is safe and what isn't.
Great gluten free menu. Love the Mr. Pink on corn.
Super cheap, delicious & most important - they actually know what gluten is and take great efforts to make sure there is no cross contamination.
Delicious tacos! If you get the tacos with fish, ask them to not flour the fish before they cook it and that will make it gluten free. Their chips are gluten free, but not all of their salsas. The guy who took our order was very knowledgeable about what was and wasn't gluten free.
Horrible gf options. All of their chicken and beef is braised with beer. I got sick after eating here because the waiter said the chicken was gf. Called back the next day to find out it was not.
Gf menu is just a list of ingredients. difficult to order off the menu. my food ended up making me sick. loved this place before I was diagnosed.
GF menu (at least at the location on 1st street). Haven't checked the trailer location
While the food was delicious, as a person with Celiac disease, this was not a good place for me. They do have a gluten-free menu but don't have a designated GF food prep area and apparently my food was exposed to gluten somewhere in the process. I would recommend being very careful ordering here if you need to be absolutely sure to eat gluten free.
Really tasty tacos and chips and queso and they have gf menu online, but I was mildly sick after both times I ate there, so there must have been cross contamination but it was mild. I've had way worse reactions from restaurants, this just made my stomach a little upset for about an hour. I'm very sensitive though, so if you're less sensitive you'll probably be totally fine. Friendly staff, great margs, and the food was really good.
I am GF and DF. They have a GF menu and very knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend this place!!
Celiacs beware! Sorry celiacs, Torchy's in NOT gluten free. After eating there several times and the managers saying their food is GF, one manager said absolutely not. I spoke with the VP of operations, and over an hour with their culinary chef in charge of the menu. They cook GF ingredients on the same flat top grill as gluten containing products. They cook chips in the same dryers as flour products. Kitchen designs are too small for seperate prep and dedicated cooking surfaces and fryers. I recommended they change their menu to say gliuten friendly; not gluten free - TBD. Will not eat here until they resolve these issues. Too bad; food is amazing!
Delicious food and lots of GF options. Staff is well-versed and can help you make safe choices, modifications where needed.
Ask for the GF menu from the cashier and be pleasantly surprised by the many choices. My son has Celiac and will projectile vomit if there is cross contamination. We all had chips and guacamole (excellent), he had the GF green chile pork taco and I had the GF Independent taco (veggie). Everything tasted very fresh. The entire family enjoyed it!
server had to take food back to kitchen as they had not followed allergy instructions plus it was just not that great would not eat there again
If you are celiac or very sensitive to gluten, do not eat the chips and salsa! The corn chips are fried in a fryer that is NOT a dedicated gluten free fryer.
The food was amazing and manager went out of her way to make sure that my food is gluten-free!! Awesome!!
Came from Nebraska and was nervous about traveling and food allergies. The staff took the time to make sure our visit here was the best. My husband says he wishes he would have ordered 2 wranglers instead of just one! Thanks Torchys for making our vacation a little more relaxing. If you have a dairy problem make sure you order your breakfast taco without eggs.
They made a lot of changes regarding their gluten free choices to the point of putting gluten free/ food allergy alerts on the tickets/ receipts when ordering. In the past the cashiers were clueless even if you ordered off the special lamented gluten free menu which caused problems when your order came out unsafe (and you find out why after eating). Still there mobile app is gluten friendly even before that got updated. I would call in my an order specifically mention it needed to be gluten free and always got help or a callback when something could not be such as their monthly taco of the month. This is why I will keep going back to this Torchy's.
I've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant, I found it to be ok. I ordered the green chili carnitas taco which came loaded with meat, the flavors were good. I also ordered the sauce dip with tortilla chips which I later found out I couldn't eat since the tortilla chips shared a fryer. Thankfully I was made aware of this after ordering, it shouldn't be on the gf menu to begin with, the Angry Orchard hard cider made everything ok again. Other than that, the service was good, atmosphere was welcoming.
Many tasty GF tacos with its own GF menu. Staff are always friendly. These are made-to-order so it's not a quick in and out, but worth the extra 5-10 minutes. Only problem is sometimes our orders have been wrong, so check your bag before you leave. Also keep in mind their chips are not Celiac safe.
Being gluten and dairy free reduced the grande burrito to a small handful of food. The counter person did not offer a GF menu. The person on the floor asking how things were simply answered, that's what left when you take items off. I don't prefer to pay $8 for 'dinner' only to have to go home and eat again.
This place made me very sick once out of the five or so times I ate there. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone with Celiac's!!
Please be extremely careful!! The gluten free menu items have the same names as regular menu items and when I ordered, they gave me the battered fried items even though I specified gluten free and asked directly if they needed any modifications to make them gluten free. I called to confirm that the fried avocado and Baja shrimp definitely have wheat in the batter- unfortunately after I had tried them. Bad bad fail at a gluten free menu!
Celiac Friendly. Lots of choices. Chips fried separately. Yummy!
Always a good experience. Knowledgeable staff who take necessary precautions for allergy and sensitivity. Slogan says it all, "Damn good Tacos".
Gluten sensitive menu at the counter, great food, and GF hard cider if you want an alcoholic drink with your tacos. Always busy!
Love their breakfast tacos!
Arrived at 1 on a Saturday and the place was understandably packed. After waiting for about 15/20 minutes in line I ordered two tacos (the democrat and the pulled pork) and a side of the sweet corn and chips. These were, hands down, the best tacos I have ever had. My order was labeled on the receipt as gluten free with an allergy stamp in big capitals and someone hand delivered it back to the kitchen with an explanation instead of just ringing through the computer. The fountain drinks were by Maine Root and delicious. The atmosphere was fun and loud but very clean. The tacos were incredible. I'll be back soon.
They have a whole laminated GF menu if you ask for it, lots of options on corn tortillas, and side of corn and chips & salsa, and even a great GF brownie! Nice to take the whole family and everyone can eat tasty food.
Celiac friendly but thought my tacos weren't all that great. My brother loves this place. I'd go back, though.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff at all of their locations. Their gluten free menu is extensive. Their queso is delicious and I've had almost all of the gluten free tacos and I havent been disappointed! My two favorites are the one with the mushroom, and the one with the barbacoa. Just so you know, the one with the mushroom, and the one with the avocado, have the mushroom and avocado covered in cornmeal. It freaked me out when I got it, but then saw it was just cornmeal so it's safe to eat, and it was nice to have some change like that!
