There is no GF menu, but I was told my waitress would help guide me. She told me the blackened mahi mahi with fried green tomatoes was GF. I asked her to double check with the chef. She went away and returned, saying it was. So I ordered it. It came with two slices of fried tomatoes that looked to me to be fried in breadcrumbs. I started eating the fish but when she cane back I asked her to check for me. She came back and said “those are not gluten free. Do not eat those!” She brought me black beans and rice as a substitute and I removed the fried items from my plate and avoided the sauce on that half of my plate. But I was really surprised that my gluten free menu item was served with half the plate being something that was so obviously not gluten free. I am worried about whether the rest of my meal was GF. Wish me luck tonight.

I have been coming to Sanibel for over 40 years and for some reason I’ve never been to Traders. It was amazing and is now my favorite place here. The waiter was very knowledgeable and was happy to still double check with the chef to make sure everything was gluten-free and safe for me. There were enough options to make me happy. I had the pan seared mahi with a coconut curry sauce, mango salsa, and black beans and rice. It was out of this world. 10/10

What can I say? Absolutely delicious. Not a whole lot on their menu is gluten free, but what they do they do well. They have the blackened mahi, ribs, and grouper as being gluten free. They had 4 specials, and I got shrimp and grits. They were the best I’ve ever had! I would absolutely recommend coming here.
