Food was phenomenal. The staff was very informed about gluten allergies. Cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant absolutely stunning on the water great place for special outing.

Though I didn’t get sick, the waitress seemed a little peeved about me asking for gluten free and reiterating it was for an allergy when it seemed brushed off. Had the calamari (first time having calamari since being diagnosed 7 years ago) delicious, and the swordfish. By the time the entree came out the waitress was more understanding and made sure to let me know that my food was the gluten free option since another in my group ordered the same thing.

Traffords was closed for three years due to a fire and covid. It's a waterfront seafood and American restaurant. Gluten free items are marked on the menu and the chef is very accommodating. The food is excellent.

I used to have good luck here. Then they removed the gluten free menu, and my waitress’s lack of knowledge made me extremely nervous. Lost my business!
Trafford is definitely celiac friendly. I have eaten here several times without incident. Wait staff is knowledgeable and I love that they have a dedicated fryer!

Excellent fresh food! Dedicated fryer! You have to have the gf calamri

So amazing! Definitely recommend the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the calamari could be made gf. Got the fish and chips also - separate fryer and all!

Had an awesome breakfast here! Basically anything can be made gluten free. They have a separated fryer and prep space and can adjust things as you need. Expensive, but delicious and beautiful.

Great GF choices (get the calamari!)

Awesome place for GF Dining. Had the Fish & Chips. The fish is made in a cornmeal batter and fries are all made in a dedicated fryer. Fish was delicious and hand cut fries were awesome. They also brought out a warm GF dinner bun when they served the bread. They don't have a GF Menu per say --- but have alot of options. The food here is great, fresh ingredients and very tasty!!!

Great place with great views. Not a cheap place but a nice date night place. GF choices were great !
Have been there for brunch or lunch several times. Never been disappointed-- there are always several gf options, good food and knowledgeable servers.
Stopped by here while passing through town on vacation- was very surprised to see such a beautiful restaurant, waitress was very knowledgeable of their gluten policies and went above and beyond to assist me with my selections - had Fish and Chips- Cod was breaded in cornmeal, made in a dedicated fryer and absolutely delicious- extremely Celiac Friendly! Will stop again if ever passing through! Thanks!

Like the last reviewer - I was excited to see so many options on their GF menu - but when I inquired if they used a dedicated fryer they said no that they fry all items in the same fryer....is disappointing as this is truly not GF. That said my daughter had seared sea scallops, salad & grilled asparagus with a Gluten Free roll. All was delicious, fresh & well prepared. The food is great, atmosphere is lovely with views of the harbor as it is right on the water. However, they should not list all their fried items (fish&chips, fried clams, French fries, etc.) as gluten free unless they can utilize a dedicated fryer for these items. If they had a dedicated fryer I would have given them 5 stars. Service was great and I would return, although can be pricey as seafood entrees ran between $20 & $28.00; so can be expensive for a large party. Also, I didn't see any items on the child's menu that were GF.

Over 75% of the menu is gluten-free with many gluten-free fried food options. However, be warned they do not have a dedicated gluten-free Fryer. I went from very excited to very disappointed once I discovered this. A patron sitting next to me, also with celiac disease, informed me that she's eaten there many times and has had the fried fish options without getting sick. I on the other hand did not want to take that chance so I ordered a sandwich with gluten-free bread, it was pretty good.
