We found that the staff, unfortunately, didn’t seem to understand GF. Eventually we were able to speak with the owner and there were a number of GF options available, but they weren’t marked on the menu and I didn’t feel very confident. I didn’t get sick, but it wasn’t a great experience. We decided to stick with Wegman’s sushi from now on.

Very good quality sushi with several naturally gluten-free options. I do wish they would mark the ones that are GF. Their sushi vinegar does not contain gluten or wheat, and they have gluten-free soy sauce available. If you tell them you have a gluten allergy, they will clean their work station and take other precautions to prevent cross-contamination. There is no specifically gluten-free dedicated space in their kitchen, but that’s pretty rare anyway.

Tsuru is an amazing sushi place and offers gluten free soy sauce. Most of the sushi is already gluten free besides any crunchy or tempura rolls and fried rice Can be made with gluten free soy sauce upon request. Miso soup is also gluten free! The owner Kiki is knowledgeable about allergies and she will make sure everything is made safely if you inform her of your allergy. She is also aware of what items are not gluten free.
