I explained to the server that I had celiac and needed gluten free. She explained that much of the menu could be made gluten free with a few changes. I went with a safe option because I didn't want to take any chances (surf and turf). My meal was delicious and happily no negative reactions.

Eat here frequently enough. Recently they changed the menu and it does not designate what is and isn’t gluten-free. Was told that was because when people ordered gluten-free items off the menu and did not specify they needed it to be gluten-free, then it probably wasn’t. Huh? Doesn’t seem right to me although I always specify when ordering but now I don’t feel confident. As with their whole menu this place gets by on the view alone. I don’t want to play gluten detective and send my server back and forth to the chef, especially if I can’t trust it’s gluten-free. Seems their attitude with gluten and other allergies needs an update along with the decor.
The waitress was super nice. The bus boys were good at there job. The view was amazing, the food was not. The waitress new very little about what was gluten free. Was told they could make anything gluten free, but when it came down to it, there was very little they could make gluten free. I got sick after eating here. The food was diner quality if that. Chicken came out way over cooked. Salad tastes like it came from a bag. Shrimp did not taste fresh. Bathrooms were smelly and dirty. Doubtful we will go back.
No
The inside menu looked like it had lots of options. The outside menu was more bar food, and the options were limited. You can’t order inside food outside, apparently. Ordered a chicken bruschetta sandwich without the bun. Told the waitress about the gluten sensitivity and they took the time to put the French fries in a separate container and mention that we might want to be careful with them.
We ate here last night and our server was extremely knowledgeable about gluten free options. The meal was fantastic and I did not get sick! Great seafood place.
They happen to prepare many dishes gluten free and the management/kitchen was aware knowledgeable. That said the waiters are high school and college kids who weren't aware so I call ahead or ask at the hostess stand to be seated with someone who can handle your order appropriately. That said their seafood is great and they offer several options you just need to ask.
Had an awesome GF dinner (Chicken Maryland) with no side effects :) couldn't be happier! Def. going back!!!

I don't really see how they claim to be gluten free. Yes, they have gf food there you can eat, but very limited. No gf menu- no gf pasta or bread. I ordered the crab cakes but they were really just piles of lumps of crab meat- very disappointing. They are nice and accommodating, but don't plan on eating much.
I am not celiac- just gluten sensitive. However they were very accommodating to GF and our waitress was knowledgable. I had a good experience and didn't get sick.
Had a great dinner here recently... delicious GF clams casino (!!) and even GF crab cakes! Our server, Conor, answered all of our questions and checked with the kitchen to verify, plus he followed up every time with the verdict (safe for me or not) so I could enjoy my meal without a worry. Nice dining room, large bar, huge outdoor seating area, terrific bay views. Friendly service, and Conor was familiar with Celiac and GF dining needs. **The Tuckahoe Inn kitchen makes almost everything to order and can modify many dishes to be GF.** As always, communicate your GF needs, questions and concerns with your servers. Recommended.
