After a bit of struggling to explain my gluten issue to the server, we finally found a way to communicate. I brought my gluten-free information card in Arabic. However, the waiter was only able to speak Arabic, not read it. He did speak Hindi, as did one of my friends. So my friend told the waiter about my issues. The waiter then picked out a meal for me, which was delicious and caused no ill effects.
