I told server I was gluten free not by choice (may have used the word allergy). Asked about the burger with no bun. I was given assurance that it would be safe. Asked if I wanted garlic fries and I said yes. At end of meal I had eaten maybe half of the fries - which were crispy and delicious. So I stopped the server and asked - are these fries dipped in flour ? She said "No, they are dipped in a beer batter 😃. Yikes! So I asked her to please check if the beer batter was made with wheat flour. It took her about 5 minutes to check. Came back and said " The chef isn't sure so I'm going to go look on the package. " 5 minutes later other server came out and said ,"Yes, there is wheat flour in the batter. I don't know why your server didn't think about that when you asked for no bun...and we do have gf fries available!"

I was waiting to pay and hoping they would try to make it right by taking my meal off the bill but no such luck. Server came out and said she was sorry about that and she took the $2.00 upcharge for garlic fries off the bill. Ugh. We are from out of town and on the way to see my granddaughter perform at a state competition. Knew I was in for trouble as my stomach started gurgling. Stopped at a nearby CVS to get Activated Charcoal but they were out. So I'm taking some Gluten Cutter and some antacids. 🤞 Fingers crossed I can get through without vomiting.
