I ordered the Boba fett sushi, it was amazing. Freshly prepared, everything is labeled and made to order. Service was quick and very polite.

Umami is a place that anyone can easily pass by. They’re located in small shopping center plaza. When you walk in, their isn’t much room to wait. Overall they can get pretty busy, even during the week. They do takeout orders if you’re not in the mood to wait. We started with a salad with ginger dressing and sake. We also ordered the sashimi moriawase. It came with three varieties of tuna, a yellowtail, salmon, shrimp and scallops. Their red tuna is the best in town, it looks natural. The salmon and yellowtail were both delicious. The scallops were excellent, this is a hard find in the area, and many get it wrong. Not here! I highly recommend it. Since I’m not a shrimp person, I didn’t find it super appealing, but it was definitely fresh. For our roll, we had the trinity, which had avocado on top with popped rice and the inside had yellowtail, salmon and tuna. It was excellent. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the roll overall was light, not super heavy. Lastly, the selection of sake available was great. We tried the Dassai 45, which is a nigori. The nose had a hint of anise to me, although it’s described as a fruity light buoyant. On the palate it’s more of a botanical anise flavor. We didn’t get a fruity note from it. Food is a little pricier for a similar quality around town. Despite them being busy our server kept us filled with drinks and communicated the delay. Additionally, they handled my gluten allergy well. They were informed of what it meant and were mindful of what I could and couldn’t have. I did not have any negative reaction. Definitely would return.
