I have celiac and I watched The employees ladling up soup to go and handling bread. They did not wash their hands in between and they did not wear gloves. There were several boxes of gloves but nobody was bothering to wear them. The same girl that was handling all of the bread for the sandwiches was also ladling out my soup, holding each soup container near the rim with bare, gluten covered hands. As I was picking up my order which I had just watched them prepare, basically $70 worth of soup to go I asked the young man if they were certain there would be no cross-contamination because I saw people handling bread and ladling out soup and he became very defensive and argumentative and stated they always did their business this way and they never had any complaints. I pointed out to him that I saw somebody handling the bread and then holding my soup cups. He stated that they wash their hands all of the time and they had never had an issue. I let him know that I watched the girl handle the bread and then ladle up my soup. He said we take extra precautions when people have celiac”allergies”. I asked him how he knew that I was celiac since the gentleman I ordered from never told them that I was, I could watch everything happening their kitchen area is open. It is a small place.

I probably should’ve asked for my money back, left the soup and left.

Now I’m sitting in my car writing this with $70 worth of soup that nobody can eat and I can’t take in my house. For me this is not worth taking a chance on. Soup is going in the dumpster.
