On vacation with my husband, celebrating our anniversary, we decided to go to Uncle Ernie’s after reading the good reviews. However, our visit was not as good as I wanted it to be. Our waitress was very short with me and not willing to help with my gluten sensitivity. She said she “thinks” everything that is grilled is gluten free. So I took my chances. I got the grilled shrimp with broccoli. It was very yummy but it was a very small serving of both. I started to get a headache and neck pain as we were leaving the area. Overall, I don’t think we will be returning to this restaurant despite the beautiful views of the bay. Proceed with caution! No separate gf menu.

This restaurant did not have a gluten free menu but they were very willing to work with me. My waitress was great and asked the kitchen staff for a complete rundown on gluten free options. I got the Grilled Chicken Melt with no bun, and cheese grits as a side. The portion was perfect for me. There is also a smothered chicken platter that is the same thing but two chicken breasts. Just a larger portion and larger price. It is right on the bay with a beautiful view. Did not make me sick at all!

They don’t have a separate gluten free menu, but they are very knowledgeable about gluten free. Their food was awesome. I got their special, which was grill grouper and shrimp with a Sherry sauce.

The staff is friendly and helpful. They will help you with gluten free options. I ordered their shrimp and grits. It comes with andouille sausage. The waitress had to check. They suggested not having the sausage since they buy it from someone else and don't make it themselves.
