Based on the reviews I figured I could ask them to let me know what had gluten so I could just stay away from that area. It didn’t work like that. The manager told me that I could have a salad and she would put some fresh vegetables on in the back. She expressed that even though it says gluten free she wouldn’t recommend it. I risked it and got sick the next day. Not horribly but enough to know I won’t go back.

Most of the menu is naturally gluten free. Food is assembled from dishes behind the counter (like Subway or Chipotle-style), so cross-contamination is easy, especially early in the line (good to keep in mind if you have non gluten allergies). The glutenous items looked like they were at the end, in taller containers so cross-contamination there looked less likely. We got a Sweater Weather and a Thai Cashew bowl and shared them. They were pretty good but I was expecting more flavor. Next time I might get a custom bowl so I can focus on ingredients I want to bring out, ask for heavy dressing rather than medium, and avoid the dry toppings at the end (since that's where the gluten seems to live). I did not seem to react to eating here.

I’m celiac, and extremely sensitive, and go here weekly with no issues. So good. Almost everything is GF and they change gloves, etc. if you tell them you have an allergy. Very little chance for cross contamination since there are so few gluten containing ingredients. Plus the food is AMAZING!

So many options! Only two maybe three items on the whole menu are not gluten free. Love this place so much.

Mostly serves byo salads and bowls. Cross contamination may occur during handling of toppings like pita chips/croutons and separate menu for toasts. I have not been glutened here.
Did a macro bowl and it was pretty heavy. Build your salad bowls were much better. If you're not a huge dressing person go for light dressing. Medium dressing was pretty generous.
Service is a get you in and out quick approach. Outdoor seating area was nice and cute. Overall very cute instagrammy vibes.

about every ingredient at upbeet is entirely gluten free - the only items not gluten free are the hemp granola (found in So Cali) and the granola made in the smoothie bowls, because they are processed in a facility that handles wheat. no fear, they have gf granola in substitution. any bowl can be accommodated to your needs (vegan, dairy free, etc). love love love :-)

Awesome restaurant! Mostly vegan and almost all items are gluten free. I ate a quinoa grain bowl with lots of veggies, chicken, and dressing and didn't get sick at all (I am super super sensitive).
