Called and Kate knew what Celiac was. She answered all of my questions and doubled checked a couple of them with the kitchen. Fantastic experience will be back!

Great safe place for celiacs to eat at. Very knowledgeable about cross contact. They have dedicated fryers and a lot of items on the menu are gluten free or can be made gluten free.

Uprooted has many celiac safe gluten free options on the menu. Servers are all well informed on allergens. The exterior of the building leaves a lot to be desired, but the food is excellent and affordable.

We found this place through the app and it was such a nice surprise! The food was tasty and they were very careful with our allergy. We will be back!

One of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a very long time. They are so good with cross contamination, have dedicated fryers, and so many options. You can even get things like chicken fingers, wraps, and more that you usually can’t find gluten free while dining out. I wish I didn’t live far away!

What a wonderful experience. Honestly was so impressed with the options they provided.
The cauliflower crust Flatbread was amazing! Can't wait to come back and try the cauliflower wings. They were out when we were there. The salad cart had so many options and no croutons so that helped with no cross contamination. All the salad dressings are made in house. Highly recommend the ginger!
There are plenty of entree items that can be made gluten free as well. I had the caprese chicken with risotto, absolutely delicious. Nothing goes in the fryer that isn't gluten free. Even the kids chicken nuggets are gluten free! I feel very confident eating there gluten free.
Titos hibiscus martini, try it. I promise it's great!!

Update
We recently dined at Uprooted again and they no longer have a gluten free menu. The regular menu just contains the following statement; “We Offer Gluten Free Buns, Cauliflower Crust, Bread, Wraps & Pasta”
They have a separate GF menu that has a variety of options. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich and it was served on an Udi’s bun and it was very tasty. The sandwich was served with fries and coleslaw. The fries are made in a dedicated fryer.
The only thing that throws a red flag for me is that their menu is labeled “Gluten Friendly” as opposed to “Gluten Free”. Based on that, I’m not 100% confident that the kitchen is celiac safe. We had a good experience at Uprooted and we plan to dine their again. The next time I am there, I plan to ask more questions about the kitchen and prep areas just to ease my concerns.

I have Gluten Ataxia which damages my cerebellum when exposed to gluten. I have eaten here many times and never been exposed. I am so sensitive that simply reaching in to get popcorn behind someone who had washed their hands, but touched their phone that was contaminated with Gluten rendered me unable to walk for days.

We needed a place to go after snow tubing and eating out is always scary. The food and service were wonderful and it was clear they understood GF protocols. My daughter was able to eat fries and her garlic bun was so good she had to ask to make sure it was GF. She is sensitive to cc and didn’t get sick at all. She also loved that the dessert tray had options for her.

My boyfriend and I ate here and he didn't get sick at all! They had a separate GF menu and the food was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend really misses Reubens since he's been GF and he loved the Reuben on GF bread at UpRooted. And the server who take care of us was super sweet. This is definitely going to be our go-to spot for GF food in McHenry:)
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great food. Make reservations for dinner.

Knowledgeable on adapting meals to be gluten free. So many options for both meal, starters, and drinks (even including New Grist).
Excellent! I am gluten sensitive, but my son is celiac. Staff was very knowledgeable about their menu, and there are lots of GF options.
