I am very familiar with the restaraunt options in Wheeling for people with Celiac Disease, and The Vagabond Kitchen is #1! For an appetizer I had the homemade corn tortilla chips with hummus (so good!), a burger on a gluten free ciabatta bun, and a side of waffles fries! The waffle fries and tortilla chips are fried separately from everything else to avoid cross contamination. I also cannot not tolerate dairy and they were able to accommodate that as well! This is the only place in Wheeling that I will be eating out at from now on, because I truly feel I can trust them not to make me sick.

Called ahead of time. They said they had gluten free options and a dedicated fryer. When I arrived they told me they did not have a dedicated fryer. My waitress didn’t know what I could and couldn’t eat on the menu and the chef asked me if rice was gluten free
No
I called the restaurant before hand to see if there were gluten free options and was informed that they had gluten free buns and dedicated fryers. After ordering I was told that they had no gluten free buns and I cancelled my order.
So just an update on this restaurant: there are really not many GF options. No GF buns, shared fryers. The waitress didn’t give us much to go on even though the menu said to check with your server for GF options. My son ended up with a side salad.
