Review of Vale Food Co

I floated between 2 and 3 stars Vale. Today was my first time eating here and while the food was tasty, there were other things that dropped them down to 2 stars.First, when I asked what the gluten free options were, I was told by a gentleman that, “All proteins we have today are gluten free.” So, I chose rice for my base, mushrooms for my veggie, and I was about to choose a delicious looking chicken in a cream sauce but decided to just double check that it was in fact gluten free. The same gentleman said, “Yeah, it has cheese and flour...does flour have gluten?” For those of you who don’t know, flour is the MAIN item that contains gluten. I’m so glad i double checked. So I chose the ancho chicken, corn salsa, and goat cheese. I was then informed that they were out of goat cheese. So i went with feta, curry honey mustard sauce and chipotle ranch on the side. I was sorely disappointed at how little sauce they give (see photo).I may give it another try, but I plan on first approaching the manager to see if I can help educate their staff on what gluten is.
