Review of Van der Valk Hotel

Do NOT go here with the idea that all Van Der Valk Hotels always have a good idea of gluten free food!

Called beforehand and asked about the gf breakfast. They said they could arrange a gf breakfast box since we left before the breakfast bar was open.

Checked in and we filled out a form about our breakfast box. Checked the box for gluten free, since that's what the customer service told us to do.

The next day when we checked out we picked up the breakfast box. But when we arrived at our destination, we found some croissants in our box. And if you're gluten free you KNOW that there's no such thing as a really good flaky croissant. So we called the hotel and asked about it. And as expected: not gluten free. And the crumbs were all over the box. So we checked the other products: peanut butter with traces of wheat, some gf breakfast rolls (that were not marked as gf) in a bag that was obviously filled that morning. So we had 0 trust that the person making the boxes washed their hands before touching the gf rolls.

There were some things that were alright: butter, orange juice, cheese and salami. But we didn't even want to try it anymore.

So we were hungry and unhappy. Hope they learn better in the future...
