Refused to scoop from a clean container, said all the ice cream is cross contaminated anyway.

Employees don’t know much and are kind of your stereotypical ice cream “I think it’s gluten free”. However it is marked on the board and they opened a new pint from the back for me and cleaned the scooper etc. So at the end of the day pretty good.

They clearly label on the menu what is GF, however the employee I spoke to said there is a good amount of risk for cross contamination. I’ve had their ice cream on 2 different trips to NYC and didn’t have any issues though. The honeycomb ice cream is soooo good!

Take caution! I didn’t get sick, but but after looking online I saw that oats are hiding in many of their vegan flavors marked as GF. I personally don’t do oats so that was good to find out. Also, a gf vegan flavor I had at one location was then marked as containing gluten at another. Mediocre ice cream

Ice cream flavors marked with gluten free, vegan, nuts, etc. Asked server to use clean scoop and she washed two for us. Said she would have used a new container but it was the last one. Had the seasonal flavors - planet earth and lemon creamsicle - with no issues.

Definitely worth a trip - flavors are clearly labeled with multiple allergens. The only thing I was missing was a gf cone! But one of the staff said they are working on that soon. Great gf and vegan ice cream! My partner had a flavor with both gluten and dairy and enjoyed his as well!

I LOVE Van Leeuwen! Their artisan ice cream is pricey but their flavours are very rich! As someone who needs to be both gluten- and dairy-free, I'm a huge fan of their vegan ice cream. It's rare to find vegan ice cream offerings that consists of more than just fruity sorbets, and they do an excellent job here.

On the gluten front, they also mark gluten-containing flavours with a "G", even among the vegan options. I've never had a reaction eating here.

I rarely indulge in ice cream, but when I do, it's almost always here.

We discovered this little ice cream shop last night that had several gf & vegan ice creams. I tried the vegan peanut butter honey comb that was df & gf (made with coconut milk) and it was delicious! There were still a lot of flavors we couldn’t have, but it was fun to try something new!

They have all allergens listed on the menu, but keep in mind that it’s rather than listing things that are gluten free, it lists which menu items contain gluten.

They have a QR code for food allergies, listing everything that has gluten. They do warn about potential cross contamination. They gave the scooper an extra rinse when I said I was unable to eat gluten and were very accommodating.

I was offered a sample of ice cream here after I shared I had celiac and confirmed with the staff member it was gluten free. After I tried the sample, the staff member rechecked the ice cream flavor she gave me and stated that it did have gluten in it. It seemed like an honest mistake, but still very frustrating.
