There were a few GF options, and while the staff was knowledgeable and offered to change gloves, they still grabbed food from the same containers that the old “glutened” gloves also stuck their hands into (think chipotle style). So they put in an effort to prevent cross contamination, but it will still happen. The tacos are delicious though!

Velvet Taco DT Austin in a laugh when it comes to GF. They will confidently, tell you that they change their gloves to avoid cross-contamination, and that they have an entire gluten-free menu. However, if you press on, they will let you know that the butter they cook the chicken in might be an issue, and that they only offer corn or flour tortillas as a gluten-free option. Lol. When I asked what they thought the flour tortillas were made of, she had no clue that was considered gluten. Also, the station where they make the tacos is the exact same station for all tacos. maybe other locations are better 🤷

Ordered from their Gluten-free menu. One of my tacos came on a flour tortilla. I talked to the manager and got a fresh GF taco. So, no they don't pay much attention. Too bad. Damn good tacos.
